What Dean Hyers learned directing films and training U.S. and Canadian under-cover agents in acting and emotion-control techniques can help you be calm, dynamic and powerfully influential under pressure.
After Dean directed the independent feature film Bill's Gun Shop (distributed by Warner Bros.), a twist of fate found him teaching acting to undercover agents who literally staked their lives on acting skills. As he left the Federal Law Enforcement Center compound, Dean realized stage fright was everywhere – getting in the way of successful public speaking, job interviewing, selling, voicing opinions, or just sharing ideas. In 2001, Dean co-founded SagePresence, and has directed professionals beyond their fear with techniques from the movie set. Dean has helped sales teams win multi-million dollar business pitches, leaders increase their confidence, and "voiceless" employees get noticed to ascend the ranks.
Prior to his movie, Dean was the Co-Founder of interactive media company Digital Café, where he put the first CD-ROM in Rolling Stone Magazine, the first computer game in a cereal box, and marketed movies like Godzilla and Die Hard II on the internet before being acquired by Campbell Mithun Advertising and pursuing filmmaking.
